VISUAL RESEARCH COLLAGE
The flood of superficial visuals, whose original points of reference have disappeared, challenges a creation of a layered image elixir. Revealing the complex layered surface within the image boom of today visual reality. Meaning contradiction leads to visual collapse.
I revitalised everyday images by ripping them off their actual context, shuffled their context and utilized in one image essence to see whether they would still communicate to us in some way. Scattered understanding and different semantic load gather their strength together in a single whole. Generated by graphical environment, visual chaos comes harmony and order. We see what we are. Our focus floats from things that we know therefore accept, avoiding the unknown. The perception of things can mostly reflect the facts we experienced, either we are bounded in the comfort zone of existing semantic load. The work was exhibited on Graphic Design Festival Scotland in 2016.
