GRAPHIC DESIGN IDENTITY
"What is happening outside of the system of global finance? Are there any counter-design strategies to the corporatization and nationalization of finance? Can we design a crypto-economy that values care work and focuses on equity and solidarity? How do we relate to the emerging regulatory regimes that want to “civilize” fintech? With platforms operating as banks, can we speak of a gentrification of the payment industry?" ML
Money Lab is a conference organized by Institute of Network Cultures. With talks, workshops, performances and screenings it critically reflects on the phenomenas and "currents" of finance. Together with speakers, visitors and artists it seeks financial models for the future. The 7th edition of Money Lab focuses on feminist economics, social payments and alternative ways of knowing. I was invited to create an identity for this year’s edition.
The visual plays with the concept of fluidity. Boundless and ungovernable, water represents (re)birth of knowledge, with powers to transform the world. Bursting bubbles reflect on volatility of the financial and crypto markets. With 3d water shapes that take any form, the design reflects on the broadness of the conference program: impossible to squeeze into a narrow framework. 3d imagery was merged with traditional graphic design and printed as offset with pantone color.
