Not being against fashion as a statement of art, with this project, I wanted to raise awareness about marketing strategies, subliminal persuasion, influencing our ‘pyramid of needs’. How terms ‘fashion’ and ‘trend’ influence our purchase decisions?
Researching on the phenomenon of fashion and trend I was surprised how big actually fashion industry is. Too many things are produced, too less are used. Finding a balance would be important.What can be the tools to resist clever marketing strategies and visual persuasion? Research resulted in a publication that explores what stands behind the industry and the phenomenon of fashion. Typeface that represents connection of trend industry and global economy is based on washing signs clothes and global currency symbols.
